The real life challenges faced by the Apel family as they cope
with their son Zachary’s illness, along with the Skinner and
Hargreaves family, inspired the Law Offices
of Platt, Jacobus, Fielding, & Torres in partnership with the
Melbourne Fire Department to create a foundation for firefighters’
children, called the Zachary Project.
